Farm Equipment Mechanic

Farm Equipment Mechanic at Knobel Farms, Inc in Fairbury, NE.

Duties may include: Duties include but are not limited to the following: Grain cleaning and snow removal. Examine equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions. Dismantle defective machines for repair. Repair or replace defective parts. Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments, as necessary. Clean and lubricate parts. Test and replace electrical components. Tune or overhaul engines. Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance. Organize and maintain the shop, including monitoring, tracking, and maintaining inventory of parts and supplies. This job is spent primarily in the shop. Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning & other related Farm Equipment Mechanic activities as per SOC/OES 49-3041 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate. See attached Addendum C.

Work begins January 1, 2027 and ends March 15, 2027.

Pay is $18.17 per hour.

Housing is provided.

Typical schedule: about 40 hours per week.
