In January 2019, the founders of Basin Ridge Farm first explored the picturesque terrain that would become their home and business—a gentle basin cradled beneath a sweeping ridge. With an affection for the land's historic character, including an old cedar frame cabin and barns marked by nearly two centuries of agricultural ingenuity, the farm grew from a budding vision into a collaborative enterprise with friends and neighbors.

Practices and Philosophy

Rooted in principles of ecological stewardship, Basin Ridge Farm is dedicated to sustainable agriculture. Their cattle are raised through regenerative practices, employing rotational grazing to maintain pasture health and soil vitality. The animals are hybrids, grass-fed and finished, kept on nutrient-rich fields to ensure high-quality meat.

Basin Ridge Farm offers a range of beef shares from a sixteenth up to a whole cow. Each share is exemplary of local, grass-finished beef and includes a variety of cuts—steaks, roasts, short ribs, briskets, ground beef, and more—packaged and delivered frozen for long-term storage. The meat share program offers pricing that covers all processing and packaging, with deliveries targeted within Hampshire County, WV, and the DC/Maryland/Virginia area.

Event Hosting

Just two hours and fifteen minutes from Washington, D.C., the farm's idyllic location makes it an ideal site for weddings and events, capable of hosting up to 250 guests. The venue offers flexibility with its 30 acres of scenic fields, a historic cabin, and outdoor amenities. Guests have the opportunity to create bespoke celebrations with the use of the land's diverse spaces and customizable event options.
