Practices

Columbia Community Creamery focuses on community education and local food systems. They offer hands-on classes in cheese-making, cream product preparation, and soap-making using cow milk. Classes emphasize practical skills for home production, with materials provided. The creamery supports rural food security and partners with small local farms. All profits from sales and classes fund community initiatives.

Offerings

The creamery sells retail products including cheese boards ($75), cow milk soap ($75), and specialty items like Bòvre Party Time Soft Cheese ($75). Classes available include:

• Fresh Mozzarella (30-minute workshop, $50)
• Butter Making ($50)
• Cheese Board Creation (includes take-home kit, $10/person)
• Cream Products (sour cream, buttermilk, clotted cream, $50)
• Farmers Cheese/Ricotta ($50)
• Soap Making (cold process, $75)
  Classes provide ingredients, equipment, and recipes for home use. Limited to 10 attendees per session.

Visiting & Buying

Retail products are available at their store: 519 N. Park St, Chewelah, WA 99109. Online ordering with in-store pickup is supported. Classes are held at multiple locations:

• Jenkins High School: 702 E. Lincoln, Chewelah (for mozzarella, butter, and cheese classes)
• Quartzite Learning: 106 W. Lincoln, Chewelah (for cream product classes)
