Blanchard Mountain Farm, established in 2013, has restored a 20-acre property in Samish Flats, Washington. After retiring from annual crop production in 2023, the farm now specializes in perennial herbs, rhubarb, and native Pacific Northwest plants for wholesale and restaurant markets. Their work includes planting hundreds of native species to support ecosystems and biodiversity.
The farm operates under a WSDA Organic Certificate, using cover crops, rotations, and compost to build soil health. Native hedgerows attract pollinators and beneficial insects. While no longer growing annual vegetables, they maintain small-scale production of perennial crops and collaborate with other farmers to steward the land.
Wholesale products include edible flowers (anise hyssop, mountain mint), herbs (lovage, bar herb mix), rhubarb (Glaskin’s Perpetual variety), and foraged native items like red flowering current, nootka rose, and western red cedar tips. Limited quantities of native fruits and conifers are also available. The farm occasionally rents a one-bedroom guest house through Airbnb.
The farm hosts occasional small events and classes on topics like agriculture, plants, and art. Past collaborations involved educators and wellness professionals, reflecting the owners’ backgrounds in education and public health. Farm tours for chefs, schools, and groups are available upon request.
Located just off Chuckanut Drive in Bow, Washington, the farm is 30 minutes from Bellingham, LaConner, and Anacortes, and 15–20 minutes from Burlington and Mount Vernon. Proximity to local farms, galleries, and eateries makes it a hub for community engagement.
