Meet the farm
Coyote Kidz Dairy Goats began as a 4-H project and grew into a passion for raising Nigerian Dwarf and Saanen dairy goats in Paradise Valley, Montana. Nestled along the Yellowstone River, they work with a Grade A dairy to develop an independent milk processing operation, with plans for a future cheese and ice cream parlor. The herd, managed with care for breed standards and health, offers soap, hides, and goats for sale, emphasizing ethical practices and connection to the land.
Coyote Kidz Dairy Goats originated as a 4-H project and evolved into a family-run operation in Paradise Valley, Montana. Owner Lorelei Hallock, raised in the Bitterroot Valley, named the herd after Coyote Creek, a stream on her family’s property. The farm is deeply rooted in the region, with plans to build a cheese and ice cream parlor to share locally produced dairy treats alongside views of the Absaroka Mountains.
The farm raises registered Nigerian Dwarf goats since 2006 and American Saanens since 2018, adhering to American Dairy Goat Association standards. With around 50 goats, they focus on conformation, production, and health. Annual hay consumption totals 15–18 tons, supplemented with pelleted feed in winter. A custom mineral mix high in selenium and balanced for goats’ needs is a key part of their nutrition strategy.
Coyote Kidz sells natural goat’s milk soap made with ethically sourced ingredients and hides at varying prices. Breeding animals start at $400, with pricing based on genetic potential and performance. Pet wethers (neutered males) are available for $125 to approved homes, with a requirement that pets be kept in groups of two or more. A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required within seven days after a doe gives birth to hold a kid.
The farm emphasizes sustainable and health-focused care, avoiding soy in feed and using bulk grain rations to reduce waste. Goats are fed a mix of rolled oats, barley, canola pellet, and other grains, with mineral management tailored to Northern Rockies conditions. All goats are raised in accordance with their ruminant biology, ensuring access to roughage and fiber.
Located at 126 Pine Creek Road, Livingston, MT 59047, the farm sits in Paradise Valley along the Yellowstone River. While the parlor is under development, visitors can learn more about the herd and products through the website.
