Harris Farm, nestled in the heart of Dayton, Maine, has consistently prioritized quality and environmental responsibility. Since 1996, the farm has been at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, famously marketing its milk in environmentally-friendly, reusable glass bottles. This initiative underscores their commitment to providing the freshest and highest-quality milk available.

Practices and Offerings

Harris Farm raises pasture-fed beef cattle, carefully managed from birth on the farm. The animals are finished on a grass-based diet and processed at a nearby family-owned butcher shop. Their beef offerings include a variety of cuts such as steaks, roasts, and hamburger—all dry-aged for 14 days, individually cut, and flash-frozen to maintain quality.

Their dairy products, including glass-bottled milk and homemade butter, are a testament to their focus on high standards. Additionally, the farm sells seasonal vegetables from their 5 acres of mixed crops and 25 acres of sweet corn, all hand-picked daily from late June through early October.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

The Harris Farm CSA Prepay Program offers an innovative and flexible way for customers to enjoy the farm's produce. Customers can prepay in $100 increments by April 30th and receive an additional 10% credit for use in the farm store. This system allows patrons to pick and choose their produce with no predefined pickup dates or boxes.

Recreational Activities

Beyond farming, Harris Farm offers outdoor enthusiasts a chance to explore the farm through skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking. Equipment rental is also available, making it easy to enjoy the scenic trails regardless of the season.

The Harris Farm store is located at 280 Buzzell Rd, Dayton, ME 04005, providing easy access to their wide array of products. Year-round, customers can purchase these products at the store or opt for home delivery through the Maine Milkman service.
