History and Mission

Nestled in Thurmont, MD, Little Captain Creek Farm is helmed by Stephen and Elizabeth Stoltzfus, fourth-generation Amish farmers passionate about regenerative agriculture. The Stoltzfus family, originally from Lancaster County, PA, relocated in 2022 to broaden their commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming practices. They aim to cultivate the land, animals, and community with nutrient-dense, farm-fresh products.

Farming Practices

Little Captain Creek Farm is dedicated to ethical and sustainable farming. Their rotational grazing methods enhance soil health, leading to more nutritious produce. They raise 50 grass-fed milking cows, 6 beef cattle, and manage 300 laying chickens, 15 pigs, 5 mules, and 3 driving horses without the use of chemicals, antibiotics, or artificial additives. Their products are GMO-free, and their livestock is pasture-raised with a corn- and soy-free diet, ensuring high-quality, natural food.

Products Offered

The farm's offerings include a wide variety of raw dairy products from 100% grass-fed, A2/A2 cow and sheep milk, such as milk, cream, butter, cheese, and yogurt. The sheep dairy includes rich cheddar and Gouda cheeses made from their flavorful milk. Little Captain Creek Farm also provides grass-fed beef cuts like ground beef and chuck eye steak. Their chicken products, including whole chickens and parts, are complemented by farm-fresh eggs from pasture-raised hens.
