History and Mission

Lexington Community Farm, also affectionately known as LexFarm, is a nonprofit community hub dedicated to fostering a deep connection between people, the land, and the food they eat. Located in Lexington, MA, LexFarm thrives on the support of its 700+ members who share a vision of accessible, fresh, and local food for all.

Sustainable Practices

Emphasizing sustainability, LexFarm employs practices that promote soil health and ecosystem vitality. By offering education focused on sustainable farming, they pass on these values through hands-on learning activities. They participate in SNAP/HIP, providing a match to enhance benefits for those purchasing fresh food items.

Offerings

LexFarm boasts a diverse range of offerings. The farm grows its own produce and also stocks items from other New England farms. Visitors can find fresh produce, dairy, meats, and pantry items at the vibrant Farm Store. Year-round CSA shares, such as summer, spring, and fall vegetables, are available with options for subsidized shares for those in financial need.

Education Programs

Education is at the heart of LexFarm with programs for all ages. From the Spring Youth Programs to Farm Scouts for children aged 6-10, the farm offers engaging lessons in nature. The farm also hosts Family Yoga in the Geodome and seasonal activities such as Art at the Farm workshops.

Community Events

LexFarm is alive with community events, bringing people together through live music, movie nights, and participation in the Patriot’s Day Parade. These events are perfect for both connecting with the community and enjoying the farm's serene environment.

Visiting and Buying

Visitors can enjoy the farm from sunrise to sunset, exploring activities like bird watching, picnicking, and scavenger hunts. The Farm Store is open to all and provides a perfect destination to support local agriculture. Registration for classes and offerings is handled through Sawyer.
