History and Vision

Fon Du Lac Farm Park opened its gates in 1981 with the aim of providing families, especially children, with a unique glimpse into 1920s farm life in Central Illinois. It combines education and entertainment, offering a living history experience that invites all ages to explore and learn.

Experiences and Attractions

Visitors can enjoy live farm animals, a country kitchen museum, and various play areas including a classic red barn and a silo slide. The park is designed to offer an engaging and hands-on experience that connects children with the history of farming.

Programs and Activities

Fon du Lac Park District offers an array of recreational programs beyond the farm park. From youth sports, like basketball and soccer, to adult offerings, such as slow pitch softball, the park district serves participants of all ages. They also run dance classes for children aged 3 to 12, covering styles from ballet to lyrical dance.

Special Events

The park district provides facilities for birthday parties, with gym usage and party room rentals available. The structured programs emphasize flexibility, offering timely assistance with serving and cleaning.

Summer Camp and Latchkey Programs

Their summer camp, open from June to August, provides educational yet entertaining activities for children who have completed kindergarten up to those in 6th grade. Additionally, the District #86 Latchkey Program offers flexible childcare for parents within East Peoria.

Facilities and Rentals

The Fon du Lac Park District Administration Center offers room rentals for a variety of events. The Carl Spindler Campground & Marina adds an outdoor dimension with 55 paved RV sites and cabin rentals, along with marina access to the Illinois River.

Registration for many programs is flexible, with options to sign up in-person, by phone, or online. Certain activities offer discounts for early registration or multiple students. For rental facilities, fees are required at booking, including refundable damage deposits when applicable.
