History and Ownership

Long Farms, located just outside Bainbridge, GA, has been serving the community for over 39 years. Managed by G.W. Long and his son Justin Long, the farm is a family-owned and operated enterprise. Originally beginning with a small garden and roadside farm stand, Long Farms has grown into one of the Southeast's largest 'pick-your-own' operations.

Farming Practices

Long Farms is committed to sustainable and community-friendly farming. Offering a range of seasonally available produce and beef products, the farm focuses on pasture-raised, grain-finished Angus-cross cattle, providing customers with USDA-inspected, vacuum-sealed meat. For vegetables, they emphasize local and fresh, employing drip irrigation, crop rotation, and expanding crop selections to ensure the best yield and quality.

Produce and Offerings

The farm boasts over 100 acres of various crops, featuring sweet onions, radishes, tomatoes, squash, potatoes, peppers, strawberries, peas, sweet potatoes, and several varieties of watermelon. Long Farms also provides a pleasant shopping experience at their produce barn, offering freshly picked goods for those who prefer not to pick for themselves.

Visitor Experience

Long Farms welcomes guests annually from Mother's Day weekend through the first part of July, with fall crops available starting in September. Visitors can take part in a 'U-Pick' experience, roaming the 90-acre expanse with pruning shears or marked buckets in hand to select perfectly ripe produce. The farm encourages guests to come prepared, observe color and ripeness, and follow simple farm rules for an enjoyable visit.
