Meet the farm
Blue Range Ranch in Colorado’s San Luis Valley raises grassfed, Audubon-certified beef using regenerative practices. George and Julie blend Holistic Management with environmental education, honoring a legacy that began with George’s grandfather in the 1890s. Their beef, born and raised on the ranch, is processed locally and available through email orders.
Blue Range Ranch employs regenerative agriculture, Holistic Management, and Audubon Society Bird Friendly certification. Their cattle are 100% grassfed, raised on the ranch, and processed locally by small processors. Ultrasound testing ensures marbling and tenderness, and all beef meets humanely-raised standards.
The ranch offers a range of beef products, including:
George Whitten and Julie Sullivan co-own Blue Range Ranch and San Juan Land & Livestock. George’s grandfather homesteaded in the San Luis Valley in the 1890s, and George applies Holistic Management to adapt practices to the land. Julie, an environmental educator, co-founded the Quivira Coalition’s New Agrarian Program, an 8-month apprenticeship for aspiring farmers and ranchers.
Orders must be placed via email at brrbeef@gmail.com. The ranch currently does not accept payments through its website. Customers can choose from pre-packaged bundles or custom whole/half beef options (no custom ordering on quarters).
