History

DeepSeeded Community Farm in Arcata, CA, was founded by Eddie Tanner in 2008. Eddie brings decades of experience in farming, having previously managed the UIHS Potawot Garden and the Arcata Educational Farm. He began his journey in agriculture at Live Power Farm in Covelo.

Organic Practices

Although not certified organic, DeepSeeded Community Farm has always utilized organic farming methods and materials. This approach ensures that nearly all of the farm's produce is sold directly to the community from the farm, fostering a transparent relationship that emphasizes community over certification.

Offerings

The farm's CSA memberships allow members to receive weekly produce baskets throughout the harvest season, featuring a diverse array of crops from spring, summer, and fall. Members also have the opportunity to pick flowers and herbs directly from the farm each week. For winter, crops are grown in unheated high tunnels, thanks to Eddie's ongoing research and dedication to sustainable agriculture.

Education and Community

Eddie Tanner is passionate about education and community engagement, offering classes and workshops. His book, "The Humboldt Kitchen Gardener," serves as a local gardening resource.

Membership Details

DeepSeeded Community Farm operates primarily via its CSA model. Members can comfortably pay using checks, Venmo, Zelle, or CalFresh/EBT. While the farm doesn't offer half shares, many members choose to split their membership with another household.

The farm is located at 600 F St, Ste 3 #1005, Arcata, CA 95521. Members must adhere to specific pick-up hours and dates for harvests and seasons, allowing for a smooth and organized experience.
