Practices

BP Farms, LLC prioritizes organic, pasture-based systems for all livestock. Cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, with no grain or soy. Heritage pigs and chickens forage freely on open pastures, supplemented with certified organic feed. All products are free from hormones, antibiotics, and synthetic chemicals. The farm actively participates in the Livestock Conservancy to preserve rare breeds like Red Devon cattle and Rhode Island Red chickens.

Offerings

The farm sells a variety of products, including:

• Beef: Grass-fed roasts, steaks, ground beef, stew beef, and specialty cuts like beef suet and heart.
• Pork: Heritage breed cuts from Red Wattles pigs, processed without nitrates or artificial preservatives.
• Chicken: Free-range whole birds, parts, and organs, with eggs from soy-free, non-GMO hens.
• Specialty Items: Soup bones, calf liver, and other organ meats.

Heritage Breeds

BP Farms raises heritage breeds critical to biodiversity:

• Red Devon Cattle: Known for docility, longevity, and high-quality grass-fed beef.
• American Milking Devon Cattle: Tri-purpose breeds (milk, meat, draft) with historical ties to the Pilgrims.
• Red Wattles Pigs: Forage-efficient hogs prized for flavorful meat.
• Rhode Island Red Chickens: High egg-producing birds with robust adaptability.

Visiting & Buying

Pickup is available Monday–Saturday, 8 AM–7 PM at 6300 N Rea Road, Dundee, MI 48131. Orders can be placed online or by contacting the farm directly at (734) 430-4261. Payment is accepted via cash or check (made payable to BP Farms). Orders must be picked up within two weeks of readiness. Split orders require a single check from the primary buyer.

Pricing & Shares

Beef and pork are sold by hanging weight (per pound), with prices varying by share size:

• Beef: Whole ($7.65/lb), Half ($7.95/lb), Quarter ($8.25/lb), Eighth ($8.95/lb).
• Pork: Whole ($6.50/lb), Half ($6.95/lb), Quarter ($7.95/lb).
  All processing fees are included in the listed prices. Meat is vacuum-sealed, labeled, and frozen at pickup.
