Breeding Practices

Aspen Hill Farms places a strong emphasis on the genetic integrity and health of their Irish Dexter Cattle. Each animal is A2A2 certified, PHA/BD1 clear for generations, and either heterozygous polled (Pc/H) or homozygous polled (PcPc), ensuring robust cattle well-suited for a variety of farming needs. Dedicated to a sustainable approach, these cattle are not only raised for meat and milk but also serve as working oxen, aligning with the farm's long-term goals of minimal intervention.

Genetic and Quality Assurance

The cattle are meticulously tested and certified. Genotyped with UCDavis for over a decade, each animal has undergone extensive NeoGen panel testing, which includes assessments of maternal, milk, and meat qualities. Their cattle's exceptional production and maternal numbers stem from stringent breeding protocols and detailed testing.
