Abers Acres operates as a USDA Certified Organic Farm, prioritizing sustainable methods that work with nature rather than against it. They grow organic crops using seeds from Lakeview Organic Grain and Johnny’s Selected Seeds, and fertilizers from Ohio Earth Foods and Fertrell. The farm emphasizes seasonal availability, with organic strawberries available in two seasons: spring (mid-June to mid-July) and fall (September). U-Pick options for strawberries and peas are available by appointment, and the farm welcomes groups for educational tours about organic farming and nutrition.

Offerings

The farm sells a wide range of organic and local products, including fresh produce (herbs, kale, Swiss chard, collards, lettuce, cabbage, cucumbers, broccolini, zucchini, peas, and popcorn), duck and chicken eggs, and frozen berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries). They also carry local maple products from Rice’s Brookside Maple Products and 100% pure honey from Brandon’s Bees year-round. Additional items include maple popped popcorn, baked goods (pies, cinnamon rolls, muffins), and Christmas trees after Thanksgiving.

Visiting & Buying

Abers Acres operates a farm stand with daily fresh produce, open Monday–Saturday 9am–6pm and Sunday 10am–5pm. U-Pick strawberries and peas require advance appointments by calling 716-267-2431. The farm accepts cash, debit, credit, Venmo, EBT (SNAP), WIC, and Fresh Connect vouchers. They participate in farmers’ markets and offer direct-to-consumer sales through their farm stand and online presence.

Established in 1984, Abers Acres has grown from a small operation to a 100-acre farm spanning Kennedy, NY.
