Zanzenberg Farm

I forget where I first heard about Zanzenberg Farm and their whey-finished pigs, but it was sometime after we decided to buy a whole cow and had gone down that road, so we sort of knew what we were getting ourselves into. If you're considering a whole hog, this is absolutely the place to go. I have never had better pork in my life, it's difficult to describe how good this meat is. You will pay a premium, but once you taste that first chop you won't be able to go back to grocery store pork. This was 100% worth the drive from Austin and the speeding ticket I got on the way for going 4 over. Do not mess around on those country roads.

I was in search of grass fed pork fat, locally, to render lard. Unexpectedly, a Google search landed me at Zanzenburg Farm just 20 minutes from my doorstep in Center Point, Tx. The fat I received was the cleanest I’ve found and rendered easily into a snow white lard, beautifully! Kayte and Justin were super friendly, caring people & incredibly helpful. Couldn’t be happier with my local find!!! Planning to try all their pork products ;)

We went to a wonderful Dark Sky event! The food was delicious and very well presented. We met nice people and listened to good live music. Definitely worth the cost and we look forward to going again.
