Driftless Organics, nestled in the Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin, has been a pioneer in organic farming since 1993. Born from a childhood dream of two brothers, Josh and Noah Engel, the farm first planted over 20 varieties of potatoes on their family’s organic dairy land. Today, they pride themselves on offering a rich diversity of certified organic vegetables, fruits, and sunflower oil to communities across the Twin Cities, Madison, LaCrosse, and Viroqua. Driftless Organics started in 1993 as a summer project by brothers Josh and Noah Engel. Inspired by a dream to cultivate the finest organic potatoes, they embarked on their farming journey on a small field within their family's organic dairy farm. Over the years, their passion and dedication transformed Driftless Organics into a diverse and thriving organic farm.
Driftless Organics is committed to certified organic farming methods. They focus on biodiversity, incorporating small grains and biofuels into their rotations to maintain healthy soils and ecosystems. Mechanical weed control and a robust network of irrigation lines are key components of their sustainable practices.
The farm manages over 100 acres, producing a variety of organic vegetables and fruits alongside their renowned potatoes. Driftless Organics also creates sunflower oil and offers up hundreds of recipes that showcase the versatility of their produce. Over the years, their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) box share program provided fresh, seasonal produce to over 600 members.
Customers can find Driftless Organics' goods at Whole Foods Market and many food co-ops throughout the Midwest, ensuring their fresh produce is accessible to a wide community.
The farm is located in Southwest Wisconsin's beautiful Driftless region, originally part of their family’s organic dairy farm. This area offers ideal conditions for cultivating a rich diversity of crops.
