Can I give them 10 ⭐️s? I love this establishment, and here are the facts. Every time I go here, I get great customer service. The employees are quick to help me as soon as I walk in. They give me great information about what they provide as well as what I am looking for, a highly knowledgeable team. The prices are great and quality of goods has been just as great. I can’t wait to go back and make another selection. If you’re a carnivore and located in the La Salle area, go to Valley Packing and Catering. Just make sure you leave some for the rest of us!

First time going there was the doors were opened, but nobody was there. To get help, I did call the number because that's what it suggested. Call before you show up, call. Ed went straight to voicemail, never got a return called back. I finally waited about 30 minutes. See, no, the person go in. And then I just followed i was unaware that everything was frozen. I was looking for some fresh meat. Some of the stuff that I am, they were advertising, they did not have.

We went to Valley Packing for the first time this weekend! Everyone was very friendly. More then 2 people asked if we needed help. And the area is small. The guy helping us was great and explained/answered any questions we had. Now the meat itself! So far everything we had is super delicious. Great quality! The beef jerky....so good! To those complaining about the hours....make it a priority. And go on Saturday. It is so worth it!

We have been purchasing our beef from Valley Packing for a few years. The quality of product has always been amazing! We just bought our 1st 1/2 cow and could not be more pleased! Wonderful customer service and prices! Love knowing where our meat is raised & processed.

Definitely not happy with the game processing here, I dropped off my elk on the 17th, they said it would take a week, which is fine, talked to them Monday the 23rd and they said it would be ready Tuesday or Wednesday the 24th or 25th, so they were about to close on Wednesday so I called them, and he said it was ready, was quoted roughly 350 at drop off but when I went to pick up was told the price was 450... And of course it's not the same guy I dropped off with and he didn't care to do any explaining on the price difference just said idk, the guy in the back who cuts it makes the price not me... seems fishy... so I ask him what the weight is, he doesn't know, hanging weight or packaged weight, so I look at the packages when I get home cause they're labeled, and they're all labeled for the 19th 2 days after I dropped it off, so it's been in there freezer for a week even though I called Monday and they said they hadn't touched it, and all the weights on all the packages are 0.12 to 0.18 lbs no matter if it's a 5lb roast or tenderloins,😅🤣🤣 it's a joke I should have just taken the money I wasted here and bought a nice grinder and stuffer and processed it all my self, definitely won't make that mistake again...And I ask where my elk bones are, cause the guy marked down he would save them for my dogs, guy checks the paper sees that it says that, I'm guessing realizes they threw them away runs around for 5 minutes and brings me back two bags of cow bones thinking I wouldn't be able to tell the difference? Just tell me you threw them out don't try and play me like a fool, will never come back and will let all my fellow hunters know aswell

They do a fantastic job with your game meats, excellent jalapeño sausage sticks and summer sausage!

Great service, great people, and great deals on half a cow.

They did a great job on my order. Everything I received was what I was told I would get when I placed my order. Everything came nicely packaged and I’m very happy with how everything was cut. My friends and I sent them 2 cows and each one of us had no problem placing our individual orders for how we wanted our share packaged.

Been going here since there Dad Kyle was running it. It has really changed. Custom service is horrible, they do not write the tickets out as asked and just messed up our meat not once but 3 times now. I tried to be a loyal customer because of there Dad and trying to have patience as they figure out what they need. Everytime they say they are just so busy not an excuse for messing up people meat. Plus it expensive to not get what you have asked for.

Google

Poor business practices, stay away!!! I met Kyle years ago when I work at a oil company and we used Valley packing for catering. I remembered this when I recently had a elk that needed to be processed. I had spoken to Luke a few months earlier and he gave me a flyer and talked to me about there process. I felt good and excited to work with them in the future. I called once I had an elk and he told me to bring it in the following week, when they would have room in the cooler. When I dropped it off I was told at first that they were full and had to wait for the guy to talk to the manager. It appears they need a better system to communicate information. Secondly when my meat was done I never received a call, even through when I called they claim they left a message. The final blow is when they told me the cost was going to be $70 more then the original price I have on the flyer. My meat was already cleaned, trimmed and quartered. When I asked about why the price was different they said that was the price the last few years and that they changed it this year. However Luke was unable to provide me paperwork showing there price change. He said that they haven't made them yet. Then he said do you want your meat or not. Apperantly the price change is due to the place accepting the bone upping there price but shouldn't there be a difference based on amount of work they have to do and or weight. Why am I paying the same as someone taking in the whole animal, something is wrong. To sum up this place is poorly run and managed. It is the end of hunting season and they don't have pricing information up to show the change, they can't communicate when your meat is done. They don't care about customer service, they just want to rip you off. I guess I can see why we stopped using the catering side because of how this place is managed. I get your prices change but be upfront about it have a sign use Microsoft word or hand written note taped to the counter when dropping off, it doesn't seem that difficult, to be upfront. Businesses should be a pillar in the community and realize that the customer is what keeps you in business. I hope people read this and take you cow or wild game to other places that understand service.

Hudson Lockers it isn’t. Small dingy and dark. Smoked bacon “thick cut” was thin and dull. Completely flavorless. Ground beef they gave me leaked all over my refrigerator because their bag was punctured. Tasted like year old ground beef which no doubt it was. Really not a retail location unless you want to buy the stuff they are trying to get rid of. I was hoping for much better.

We have used valley packing in the past. We returned this year with two deer. I called the day prior (since we live 3 hours away) and was told they had room and to bring it in. Upon arrival I was told they had no room and were completely book. Which I didn’t mind I understand it happens. My husband wanted to drop off 30 pounds of wild hog. Called the day prior, the gentleman on the phone said they would take it to come in from 7-3. My husband shows up, calls from the truck because he didn’t have a mask to drop it off. The man on the phone said they don’t take wild game passed 11am, it was 11:02am to begin and the when he called in the day prior he was told between 7-3. My husband explained this to him. The man then told him “we cannot take it because you don’t have a mask”. My husband proceeds to tell him that’s why I called from my pickup and was respectful. This employees reasons kept going back and fourth. This is the second time in the same year we have drove 3 hours to get our meat processed. The employees are disrespectful and obviously have lack of experience in customer service. Along with lack of training or knowledge of the business they work for. We will not return.

Google

Honestly, rarely do reviews, but we are very disappointed with our elk that was processed here. Labels are not accurate, breakfast sausage could be burger and vice versa, we don’t know until we open it. (Also, burger is double ground). Steaks have lots of silver skin and hair on them still, bratwursts are like a foot long; also don’t know whether they are cheddar brats or regular, not labeled correctly. Unfortunately, will never bring our big game to them again. (Image below was picked as a sirloin, tons of fat, silver skin and hair. )

This place is great. All the employees are super helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back!

Let me begin by saying Valley actually did a reasonably good job at processing a deer I dropped off November 18th. Their cooler was over capacity and they said they would accept my deer as I had driven from Fort Collins and called prior, which I appreciated. When I dropped my quartered animal off Luke the manager put the quarters on a cart and I asked if I could transfer the meat from my Kuiu game bags to the trash bags I had, he told me there would be "no need to do that" as they would save the game bags with my order and I could get them when I picked up. These were brand new game bags retailing at $29.99 per bag (I dropped off three) so I was very hesitant to leave them but took him at his word. I was never given a timeline on pickup, but generally processors in Northern Colorado take 2-3 weeks. I called around December 15th and asked if my deer was ready for pick up. The person who answered the phone and chuckled at the idea that it would be ready in a month. He informed me that I should have been made aware at drop off that my order would not be ready until after the first of the year. I thought how strange, I had never heard of a processor taking over a month and a half, but I figured they were doing me a favor by taking my deer so I waited patiently. Finally I received a call on January 4th alerting me that my order was ready. Being that it was a bit of a drive to get out there it took me about a week beyond that to go collect my order. I picked it up and was thrilled that the product I received was well done. I forgot while picking up my order to get my game bags that I had been assured would be saved for me. By the time I realized that I had forgotten to pick them up I figured It was my lesson learned. Fast forward to February 2nd I received a phone call from Valley and was thrilled, I assumed that they had realized they still had my game bags and were giving me notice to pick them up. I was quite wrong however, the employee said "we have had your order ready for pick up for almost a month you'd better come get it now!" I was blown away! WHO'S DEER WAS I GIVEN?! was this a clerical error? or did I not get the correct animal. I explained that I had picked up and paid for my order, but hadn't received my game bags back, but could come by that day to get them. He informed me that under no uncertain circumstances would they ever save game bags, I explained that they were very expensive and that I'd like a credit for processing next year. We agreed on a credit for the value of the bags and I felt good about the agreement. The next day I revived another, very rude, voicemail from Luke the manager. Informing me that they would never save game bags for anyone and that there would be no credit on my account at all, nor would I receive a refund in that amount. At this point I had absolutely had it with their customer service and I called Luke back immediately but was unable to get him to budge on the issue. Admittedly, I was very fired up and not in the right state of mind to have a conversation, but his laughter and taunting at the matter did not help at all. I am so sad this experience went south so quickly as they did a good job processing, but I can honestly say they will no longer receive my business. I know that game processing is only a side business for them I was told they normally do beef and pigs, but stay after shift to process wild game for cash payment, but their poor customer service reflects on their entire business. If I had ever been given the opportunity to pick up my $90 worth of game bags, or given a credit, or at very least received an apology from anyone of the employees I would have been satisfied but their overwhelming efforts to prove me, the customer, wrong have proven their lack of commitment to their customer.

I love doing business with valley packing. I just picked up 1/2 beef from them for my first time, but I drive from Brighton several times a year and but jerky, cheese, ham hocks and other stuff from them. Nice folks!!!

Great place. Use them for wild game. Products are great. Kids love the stix and bratwursts are great. Prices always competitive. They will fill up at times so call ahead.

Love the ground beef and ground bison. I like being able to get ground beef in 1.5 pound packages. Chuck roasts are good as well. Happy to support local business. Staff is friendly and professional. ;-)

Respectful men at the counter. I picked up 1 1/2 lb packages of 80 -20 mix ground beef. I will have them cut and wrap a side of beef later this fall. I will buy the side from a farmer/rancher in Sterling.
