They focus on quality meat production and customer engagement through farmers markets and direct orders.
I bought a half cow in March. I would highly recommend the experience to anyone. not only is the farmer communicative and straight forward, the product is high quality. I enjoy exploring all of the cuts of meat and learning how to cook every piece. I especially really appreciate the farms social media presence. I really enjoy seeing the cows moving pasture every day, and seeing how the farmer cares for the cows, pigs, chickens, fields, and the ecosystem on the farm. I am very thankful to be able to support people who clearly are passionate about what they do, and do it well for everyone's benefit.
The best grassfed beef in county, possibly the state, hands down. I don't even bother buying anyone elses anymore. The Johnson family are true stewards of their land and livestock and the care they put into both is reflected in the deliciousness of their products. I recommend them to every person I meet. Stand outs: Arleigh's smoked bacon, the steaks are GREAT, excellent quality organ meat, suet for tallow rendering, we go through a lot of burger too. It's really great stuff. BUY FROM THEM!
Awhile back, we purchased a Sweet Tree roasting chicken on the strong recommendation of a friend, who claims theirs are the best in the area. We were, unfortunately, deeply disappointed, as the roaster was, well, flavorless. When we mentioned this to our friend, he suggested perhaps we got "a bad one," perhaps at the end of the season or something. He suggested we mention this to the vendor. It's been awhile since we were interested in gambling twenty bucks on a roaster that might be disappointing, but today at the farmers; market, we thought we;d give it another try. But first, as our friend suggested, we mentioned our previous experience. The young couple we spoke with could not have been less impressed. Or less interested. I guess we saved twenty bucks.
Bought a 1/2 cow and a whole pig. Meat is wonderful. Sausage spices are good. Pick-up at the farmers market was easy.
Best steaks ever. Try the maple syrup too. Great people friendly helpful vendors too. Definitely a favorite of ours to always check out.
My girlfriend made me one of the best steak dinners of my life. Their steak was the perfect thing for a date night.
