Family owned! Open since the 70's. Usually buy in small bulk to put meat in a freezer for 6 months use. Very friendly, fast, helpful. They'll even take large loads to your car personally!!! Been going there for decades, and will be back!

This place is phenomenal I wish I lived down the street, but commuting across Houston is well worth it. So many options to choose from and their cheese and summer sausages are delicious

FRESH FRESH FRESH!!!! Did I mention fresh, lol. Seriously a very good place to go get fresh cuts of meat, from small to large orders they can fill it all. Thanks again I'll be back soon.

I gotta say, this is probably one of the most original things standing in cloverleaf. Hasn’t changed over time, has stayed the same while the rest of community changed. Some for better, others for taco trucks. Come spend your money here. It will eventually be a historic landmark one day

Spoiled Meat and Explosive Regrets – Thanks, Dee! Oh, Stark Brothers Beef Shop, where do I even begin? I walked into your establishment at 727 Freeport St, Houston, TX 77015, hoping for a quality cut of beef, but what I got was a ticking time bomb of bacterial bliss that turned my kitchen into a biohazard zone and my brother's bathroom into a warzone. Picture this: I buy your "fresh" meat, only to open it and be hit with a smell that could curdle milk from across the room. Thinking maybe I'm overreacting (spoiler: I wasn't), I call up the shop. Enter Dee, the meat whisperer, who assures me with the confidence of someone who's never met a health code they couldn't ignore: "Oh honey, that's just the blood! Rinse it off and it'll be fine." Rinse it off? Like it's a muddy boot and not a potential Petri dish of pathogens? But hey, I'm no expert, so I follow her sage advice, cook it up, and serve it to my family. Fast forward a few hours, and my brother is redefining "explosive diarrhea" – we're talking every 15 minutes, like clockwork, but if the clock was designed by a sadistic gastroenterologist. The poor guy's been glued to the throne, pondering life's choices, while I'm left wondering if Stark Brothers moonlights as a laxative supplier. Thanks to Dee's DIY food safety tutorial, we didn't just get bad meat; we got a full-blown gastrointestinal apocalypse. I march back with my receipt and the evidence (what's left of it, anyway), and politely asked for a refund. Their response? "Sorry, it's cooked now." Well, geniuses, it wouldn't BE cooked if your employee hadn't played amateur epidemiologist over the phone! This isn't just bad customer service; it's a blatant disregard for public health. Selling spoiled meat? Check. Giving dangerous advice that leads to illness? Double check. Refusing accountability? Triple check with a side of smugness. Houston Health Department, if you're reading this, please swing by and inspect this place before they turn more innocent beef buyers into unwilling participants in their "Rinse and Risk" program. As for me, I'll be taking my business (and my digestive system) elsewhere. Stark Brothers, you've earned this one-star rating – consider it a generous gift, since zero stars isn't an option.

Great old school meat market, fair and transparent pricing. I will make the drive over here anytime to support a small business that delivers great service.

It's a great shop. While they have plenty of beef (hence the name) they also have excellent cuts of pork. We go there for the pork prime rib, which is available as steaks or a roast (we get both). But they have some really excellent odds and ends too. I especially love the turkey necks! Don't let the neighborhood scare you off. It's worth the trip every time. Try and go on Thur-Fri - that's before the weekend crowd and after they restock (they're closed Monday). Thursday and Friday is the secret!

Got some ribeye steaks which of course aren't cheap and by far the worse I've ever bought. They looked good but after grilling, they were the toughest ribeye ever. I'm pretty good at grilling and wanted to try this shop instead of Sam's, Costco or HEB like I normally do. Needless to say I won't be going back. Complete waste of money for trash steak.

I'm late on posting this, but did not want to go without doing it. We have been coming here for some years now and in addition to regular purchases, each year we also reserve one of their Thanksgiving hams. This past Thanksgiving, I decided to treat some close friends to the ham. They absolutely raved about the ham and I most definitely gave them the information for Stark Brothers. Not only for the ham, but also for everything that they offer on a daily basis. It's like a meat emporium once you walk inside. There is something for everyone. They always make quality a top priority.

When I first pulled up I seen the veterans parking spot. The fact that they took the time and money to support us veterans is amazing. We purchased the deer pan sausage which made amazing biscuits and gravy. We also got deer summer sausage, ribeye and stuffed chicken. Everything is great and fresh. I will buy all my food from here now on!

The folk's at Stark's are like family. I have been going there with my family since I was a kid... The meat's and deer meat are quality and the price's are decent. They offer many family packs and meats such as turkeys and hams during the holidays. Deer processing and on Saturdays they have the most awesome tamales for sale on Saturday. You have to visit the store and you will love the place.

Nice little butcher shop with a decent variety. Would be better if they sold hot food though.
