My friend suggested we go here for lunch and said they had great subs. The place looks great on the inside, very clean and well organized. I ordered the $18 club sandwich. Yes $18 for a sandwich. It came out small, really small. Three thin slices of white bread from Dozen Bakery, which is good bread, but it was sliced so thin the layers all blended together. It wasn’t a proper club, not stacked, not filling. The “local greens” was one single piece of lettuce. The chicken was very bland. One bite had a piece of bone, another had cartilage, and another had skin. None of it was crispy or flavorful, just bland and unpleasant. For an $18 sandwich, that’s not acceptable. They don’t bring your food out either. You just wait around near the counter since there’s no way to hear when it’s ready from the dining area. Maybe the ingredients are organic and the sourcing is good, but the sandwich itself was not. Easily the most expensive and least satisfying chicken sandwich I’ve had in Middle Tennessee.

I lived in Tennessee since 2006 Smoking Oaks is the best meat and local produce in Tennessee. I traveled the United States and had grass fed beef and organic produce in many different states and grew them. I like Smoking Oak’s the best and their local fruit and vegetables and local duck, and chicken eggs. I lived in Washington state, Oregon, and California, spent a lot of time in Denver, and the local summer time fruit and produce is I think some of the best you’ll find!! The duck eggs are amazing. Once you make deviled eggs with them you will never go back!! The Hatcher farm dairy products are great!! Non homogenized milk great taste!! The sage breakfast patties are phenomenal and the brown sugar bacon!! In the summer the peach and jalapeño bratwurst are phenomenal!! The pork here is hands down the best pork I’ve had in my life. I stopped eating pork for over ten years, had a pork chop and a peach and jalapeño bratwurst and never stopped!! The whole chickens are great, and they have in house chicken broth for all your cooking needs!! The lamb meat is also my favorite lamb that I’ve ever had!! This place is great!! They also have local marinara sauce and local ketchup. The sourdough bread is the best sourdough I’ve ever had!! The sliced loaf or the whole loaf. They also make food there, anything you get there you will be happy with!! The service is great, everyone is very nice and helpful. This is my favorite and I think the best grocery store in the state of Tennessee and one of the best I’ve been to in all the land of the Great country of the United States of America!! 🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸

The guy behind the meat counter was RUDE! It was my first time here, and yeah they had a decent selection, but after grabbing what I had, I drove an extra 9 min to Bare bones (1st time here too) and what a difference! They had a great selection, helpful, pleasant and didn't talk about you when you walked away. Based on customer service alone, I will not be back to Smokin Oaks.

this is a very unique shop. It is not like any other organic farm that I have shopped. The variety of items is wide. but they carry the very best. Their sandwiches are outstanding so different from any other sandwich shop I've ever visited.

Our family absolutely loves this place. They serve real, local meat grown on their own farm (and from a few other local farms). This is the only place that we buy chicken. Even at Whole Foods the “organic chicken” is just fed organic food in a big chicken house. Hard to find real pastured birds. Their pork and beef is excellent as well. They carry a wide range organic and local products. You can get local eggs here which is nice. We generally only get meat, but the selection is big enough that you could shop for a couple of meals. Our little kids love the kid carts. All the staff is friendly and we see the same folks every week. This is definitely the kind of local place that you want to keep around. The only negative is that parking can be a bit limited. And it’s a little hard to get in and out. Definitely take care pulling out.

We just love Smokin Oaks and have been visiting regularly since they opened! You can’t beat the quality of their meats and can absolutely taste and feel the difference. They also have an awesome selection of local seasonal vegetables and fruits. The staff is so kind and helpful - always offering to help us get loaded in the car when I have my kids in tow. We are so lucky to have Smokin Oaks right around the corner!
