Voted "Stinkiest Feedlot in the Lower 48" 35 times in the last 40 years! But, ya know what Jack Simplot always said about the aroma: "Smells like MONEY to me." It's been my experience that cows smell their very best when sizzling on a grill! I've been passing by the Simplot feedlot for pretty much my whole life; worked for the company for about 4 years (in an office - NOT near the feedlot). Good people, doing good, honest work. And enhancing some tasty steaks! (Photo is 31 years old; those kids all have kids of their own now.)
What a stain on the landscape. I prefer smaller scale feedlot operations, this just looks like a terrible scar full of unhappy cows.
Got to see this feed lot for the first time, I come from Texas and haven’t seen this many cows in one place other than Lubbock and Amarillo Great company simplot!
Feedlots can get a bad wrap sometimes but Simplot land and livestock really work hard to raise healthy happy cattle to feed our families. A lot of awesome people work here as well that really helps the community of Grand View and the surrounding area.
Really good group of guys. Easy to work with. I wish the other plants would take notice and follow this plant's lead. Great job Grandview.
Scale lady is slower than molasses But the loader guys are nice
