These are good people running this processing facility. I had positive interactions and they were easy to work with. Also had a quick turnaround on a buck mule deer, which was very appreciated. My issue is with the amount of meat I received back. I harvested a mature, non CWD, mule deer buck fall of 2024. It was a single 30.06 shot through the chest, probably lost some meat off one shoulder. I ordered steak/chops and ground trimmings. I received 52lbs of meat back. Generally a deers dressed weight equals 48% of boneless meat. There is no way that mule deer dressed at 110 or 120lbs. Unfortunately I did not weigh it before dropping it off. Later that fall I harvested a young MN buck. I received 50lbs boneless meat from that deer and I damaged part of the backstrap. That deer dressed at 115lb. Take a look at the pics and see what you think. I definitely feel I got shorted a quarter of meat or a backstrap.
If I could give the good folks at Rock River Processing more than a 5 star review I gladly would. For us being non residents on our first antelope hunt they were very kind and shared a wealth of local knowledge with us to help have an amazing trip after our hunt. I couldn't believe the speedy turn around time they had with processing our goats (which I was grateful for if we had to get on the road ASAP) but since we had time to kill in the mountains they offered to keep our meat / heads in their freezer and pick it up at our convenience with the trip. This was a game changer and allowed us more time to be out in some beautiful country. If you're planning a hunt anywhere near the Rock River, Arlington, or Medicine Bow area be sure to reach out to Rock River Processing to take care of your game after the hunt! Thanks again.
Amazing service and value with this place! Nice, family owned business outside of Laramie that was open on Sunday when we had finished packing our elk out of the woods and were on the clock to get the meat processed. We wanted plain and simple... roasts, loins, steak, grind, etc. and the Rock River folks did a phenomenal job. Asked for it very clean, and I can't see a lick of silver skin on the meat. Not to mention that they vacuum seal and label and do it within a reasonable timeline. We will 100% be taking our wild game here in the future. Again, I can't recommend them enough. Thank you Rock River team!
You wait for the tag, you draw the area you want, you score on the animal of your dreams. Then you take all the care in the world to pack it out and not leave any waste. Why then send it to a processor who you can’t trust? I take all my game to Rock River Processing. Kristie and Bryon are better than the rest and package your meat, your way. One of the few who offer vacuum seal. So seal the deal, and drive your meat to Rock River. The best kept secret in Central Wyoming!! Alive and well since 1992 and carrying on the family values established by Pam so many years and so many hunting memories ago.
Did a great job at a reasonable price on my two antelope this year. Will definitely use them again!
Brought two deer to them and they finished both early. Great family and people and they do a terrific job. Will definitely be going back!
(2021) They processed an elk and antelope for me and did a great job. I am from out of state and they did it in a very timely manner.
The absolute best. Super kind and generous. I am always coming to them now.
Processed 2 antelope. Excellent quality
