Love this place! Every time we are in the area we come back. Great to get some different things to try...we are fairly adventurous already and my hubby loves the variety of sausages. Our fav is the Hungarian, they were out yesterday, and we are excited to try the wild boar, the jalapeno cheddar and the Nashville Hot!
This is such a cool butcher shop! I never thought I’d say that about a butcher shop, but this one has a cute name, good ambiance, and cool gifts inside! It’s like a butcher shop/gift shop! They had cute cards, and the staff were so sweet. I overheard that they recently got camel burgers in stock which sounded SO interesting! I’m very tempted to go back and grab some to try it!
This place is so good I almost hate to leave a review for it. The only thing better than the incredible sausages is the customer service. Do yourself a favor and stop on in.
This place is amazing. Artisan crafted sausage and top of line meats. Plus the owner and staff are wonderful, nice positive energy guys. 5 stars aren’t enough!

A close friend of mine turned me onto this butcher shop, and boy am I glad he did! Really amazing choices, including elk, venison, and locally sourced meats. Like other reviews have stated the sausage selection is mind blowing! I have yet to try one that wasn’t absolutely amazing.
Wonderful butcher in downtown West Jefferson. I special ordered a large cut of meat from them, it was a fair price and great piece of meat. I have also purchased some pork chops, which were probably the best I have had. Finally, a great selection of fresh sausage from standard styles to more exotic meats.
I can’t disagree more with the negative review about not being a family friendly environment. Ramblin Poppy fosters an inclusive atmosphere that welcomes all. I proudly bring my children here! John, Josh, and Jamie are so friendly and welcoming, and their products from freshly cut meats and merchandise is the best quality. They’re one of my favorite places to go when I’m in West Jefferson!
We bought three different kinds of sausages. I have to admit I’m usually not a great sausage fan, but I am now! These are the best ones I’ve ever eaten and I don’t plan to ever buy sausages anywhere else. I could eat them every day if my life and I would be so happy!
