VERONICA IS THEE BEST. Kind staff, super high quality meats and cheeses, passionate butchers and bread makers willing to go the extra mile to explain and answer questions about products! Very reachable by phone, again super super helpful in answering any question about products and willing to give suggestions for a newer meat eater, like myself. Clearly the ownership is involved as this place operates like a well oiled machine. Consistently good products and I loveee the chicken breasts they get from Slagel Family Farms. It’s also fun to check out local produce they have in stock like morel mushrooms, asparagus, berries—again all locally foraged. Delicious high end balsamic, jams, sourdough snacks, bespoke tomato sauces to enhance the quality meats you might be buying or to make a special dinner even more remarkable, love love this local gem.

Absolutely insane Italian sandwich. I love Italian markets and I’ve eaten at some of the best in New York City and in south Florida. I always order the Italian to see how they stack up. These are some of the best deli meats you’ll ever have.
Delicious. And I love the soup. But why are the fries now soup bowl size without a price change? Tariffs? $8 is already pretty expensive for hit or miss fries. That being said, I will return. Just likely won’t spring for a tiny, albeit possibly delicious, fry bowl.
Amazing breakfast options. The PQ(a)M is an amazing breakfast sandwich. the breakfast bowl with that crisp juicy sausage hearty bacon and those crispy potatoes coated in pimiento cheese is otherworldly. Some of the staff seemed like they may not be familiar with customer-facing jobs and came off a bit abrasive but the blonde young woman behind the counter was absolutely amazing. Would definitely visit again.
Love this place! The food and meats are always top quality, the staff are super friendly, and they’ve got a great selection of local products to pair with your meal or what you purchase from the deli. They also have farm fresh fruits and veggies.
I was only in Chicago for a weekend, and I made it to PQM twice. It's phenomenal. The best charcuterie plate I've ever had, and the Tom Skilling was amazing. I left with a nice brick of red rock cheese to bring home, which TSA promptly opened and checked because it so closely resembled C4. The tastiest explosive. Cannot wait to go back.
In my quest for the very best sandwiches, this place in the West Loop is not to be missed! My first mortadella sandwich was outstanding! Delicious flavors, perfect sized portion. Can’t wait to come back!

I’m obsessed with Publican’s fall vegetarian items. The falafel smash sandwich, poblano soup, and market salad are all SO good. The salad is super filling.
It was my first time trying publican quality meats, I will say every dish was worth every bite! The surprise was how tasty the tomato soup was and how even the pickle spear made you want to have another as it had a little kick! The soup and the porchetta bread were excellent together!
Very good customer service and helpful staff! I also had one of the best sandwiches ever—a hot pressed Italian sandwich! I’ll be back for sure!

Five stars but with an asterixis. This is definitely one of, if not the, highest quality delis in Chicago. However, they used to have the BEST turkey sandwich I've ever had but they changed their recipe. Publican, I am begging you, please bring back the OG turkey sandwich!
