Great service, very friendly. Local stuff which is nice. $72 for 2 one inch thick Picanha steaks and 4 burgers is steep. The meat was better than the grocery store, but no where near the quality to justify the price.

The beef here has to be some of the best I’ve had anywhere in the country. The marbling in the meat was consistent and plentiful. It had a very rich taste and very tender. I also grabbed a link of sausage and what a difference being hand made makes. The flavor lingered long after the bite. If you want quality meats this is the place and great service.

Best place in New Haven to get local & hi-quality meats. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful too. Just the other week I went in to get a chuck roast to smoke and they butchered it right then and there for me. I also love using them to order my holiday roasts (Turkey + Prime Rib).

Provisions is my go to local butcher shop and they continue to deliver high quality customer experience and incredible products. They support small local farms with exceptional meat products with an array of local produce, seasonings and spices as well. I highly recommend the brisket, 2inch thick cut bone in ribeye, tenderloin, and ALL of their homemade sausages which are of some of the best I have had. The staff is super friendly and make you feel at home providing recommendations when needed and a smile on your way in and out. There is no other place I would rather spend my Saturday afternoons at than browsing at provisions and cooking up some delicious meals. Highly recommend!

A bit of big city best in New Haven. The store is charming; the workers are all upbeat and helpful. Zack, the artisan butcher, is supremely knowledgeable and accommodating and friendly and patient. Moreover, the quality of the meat and poultry is excellent, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable given that this is a small, independent shop. The store also has some lovely interesting products such as Rancho Gordo beans, some select cheeses, pistachio oil, and many more temptations. Parking is easy especially if you park north of the market. Provisions is a first-rate market, and I hope the extended community will support such a special place. I've only just discovered it and couldn't be more thrilled ( and no, I'm not Zack's mother).

This place is the best! The staff are so helpful and the meat is awesome. Yes, it's more pricey than shopping at a grocery store.. but the quality is unparalleled! Highly recommend. Steaks, pork, sausages, soup bones, bacon.. everything we have gotten has been amazing!

Provisions on State is a great place to get everything that you need for a meal. They also have a weekly sandwich on Friday and Saturdays. All of their meat is fresh, locally, and sustainably raised. You can request whatever cut you would like, and if you have any questions, their butchers, Zach and Jared, can answer them. Their selection of produce is fresh and a lot of their produce is local (shout out to the hen of the woods mushrooms that we got that were foraged locally). So glad that New Haven finally has a local butcher shop!
