2A Beef began as a blog, Confessions from the 2A Ranch Wife, sharing life on the ranch through Jessica Anderson’s perspective. Over time, the operation expanded to include ranch direct beef, partnerships like Mission Lamb and Back 40 Pastured Pork, and a retail store, The Valley Merc, launching in 2024. The farm emphasizes storytelling alongside product offerings, aiming to connect families with food raised with care and transparency.

2A Beef operates through a family-run model with a focus on:

• Ranch Direct Sales: Beef, lamb, and pork are sold directly to consumers, bypassing intermediaries.
• Pasture-Based Systems: Animals graze on natural pasture grasses and legumes, with supplemental all-natural feeds like corn, wheat, and alfalfa.
• Low-Stress Environments: Hogs and cattle live in open spaces with access to sunlight and fresh forage.
• Membership Programs: Options include Ranch Club, Staples, and Ground Beef memberships for regular deliveries.
• Custom Box Creation: Customers can build their own boxes or choose specialty offerings like the Buckaroo Box or Build-A-Box.

The farm provides a wide range of products:

• Beef: Shares (1/16th to whole), ground boxes, steaks, roasts, and specialty cuts like Cowboy Steaks and Tomahawk ribs.
• Lamb: Mission Lamb offers whole, half, or leg of lamb, chops, and boxed options, raised naturally in California without hormones or antibiotics.
• Pork: Back 40 Pastured Pork provides heritage-breed pork raised on the same land where hay is grown, with a balanced feed program.
• Merchandise: Includes t-shirts, cups, and tallow balm, reflecting the farm’s cowboy culture.

Visiting and Buying

Customers can choose between pickup or delivery. Pickup orders are emailed when ready, though availability may vary during calving season. Shipped orders go out monthly.
