An Authentic and Heartwarming Farm Experience! Visiting Manderley Farm was an absolute highlight of our trip! Nestled in the picturesque hills of Akaroa, this authentic family farm tour offers a truly immersive experience that’s both educational and incredibly fun. Ross and Mary Millar are the perfect hosts, welcoming guests into their daily life on the farm. Watching Ross and his incredible sheepdogs work together to herd sheep from the hills was a fascinating sight—his skill and connection with the dogs is a marvel. We also had the chance to see a live sheep-shearing demonstration, which was such a unique insight into the hard work and expertise behind New Zealand’s wool industry. The tour wraps up with a relaxing stroll through the farm’s beautiful gardens and ends in their charming homestead, where Mary serves a delicious homemade tea. It’s the perfect chance to chat, hear stories, and experience the warmth of traditional Kiwi hospitality. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to experience genuine farm life!
