Leavelle Farms

Our regular you pick ‘em blueberry farm has closed, so we need to find a new place. We found Leavelle‘s online, although I know they have sold blueberries for years. It was an easy drive from tuscaloosa, maybe a half hour or less. The countryside is absolutely beautiful! When we got to the farm, we drove right past the gate and missed the farm. They did have two large signs, but all three people in our party missed the signs. They might wanna put some darker paint on the sign. We had called earlier, and they said that they don’t spray their berries with pesticides. We were the only car there, and there was plenty of parking. It’s an easy walk to the bushes. We could fill multiple buckets quickly. We were in the evening, when it was shady, but there’s a cool breeze there on the hill. I guess they’re open from 7 to 7, so this would also be a great place to come and have breakfast. They have picnic tables right next to the blueberry bushes. It was great to be out in the country, to hear the birds and the cows. It’s a gorgeous place, we will be back! Oh, it’s kind of on the honor system, this year it is eight dollars per gallon, toss your money in the mailbox. Pay by cash, check, or Venmo.

Loved picking the blueberries! The buckets hold more than you think. The blueberry bushes are COVERED in berries, and you can sample them as you go. This is a wonderful family experience.

Best blueberries and easy to pick all you want in a short amount of time. Beautiful place out in the country.
