Visiting KJ Farms in Kountze, Texas this May was such a refreshing experience. The farm is beautifully maintained, easy to find, and offers some of the juiciest, sweetest blueberries you can imagine. The rows were well-marked and easy to navigate, making it enjoyable for both adults and kids. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, they took the time to explain which rows were at peak ripeness and offered helpful picking tips. Buckets and bags were provided, and the prices were very fair for the quality and size of the berries. What really stood out was the peaceful atmosphere. You can tell this is a family-run farm that truly cares about their land and their visitors. Whether you’re coming for a quick morning of picking or making it a family outing, KJ Farms is absolutely worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back next season! nothing compares to fresh, sun-warmed blueberries straight off the bush!

If you’ve never hand-picked berries in May at this farm in Kountze, you haven’t truly lived… or sweated. Within five minutes I was questioning every life choice that led me to crawling between blueberry bushes under the Texas sun, but then I tasted one. Game over. Sweet, juicy perfection that instantly made me forget my sunburn and mild heatstroke. Every bucket feels like a trophy, every handful like a reward from the berry gods themselves. I showed up for a “fun little outing” and left looking like I’d fought a bear and lost — covered in juice, dirt, and happiness. The Johnsons run the place and are as friendly as it gets, the vibe is pure country peace, and the berries? Absolute magic. 10/10 would pick, sweat, and snack again. Next May, I’m bringing sunscreen, knee pads, and a cooler big enough to embarrass myself.
