RESTAURANT Review - Man, how do you describe this place? It is unique on so many levels, and all in a good way. It's like an event. Located about 20 minutes outside of Gettysburg proper, we had reservations for a weeknight dinner. We arrived to the very large parking lot in front of the massive historic red building restaurant and barn along with a whole lot of other people coming in to experience this evening at Hickory Bridge Farm. Once inside there were tons of people waiting to get called, and there are crackers and cider to enjoy while waiting. Once your name is called, you pass through another set of doors into the MASSIVE open dining area with wood ceilings and pillars and a sea of tables. Most of the tables were large round or super long wooden tables just filled with families. We were just a party of two, but they also have smaller tables for us as well. Our server was Ashley and she was absolutely wonderful from start to end this evening. Now about how this all works.... You pay one price, except for cocktails, and the food begins to roll out to your table...and keeps coming! Dish after dish was placed on our table, to the point we had to teeter some right on the edge. It's all family style service, so nothing is portioned out. It's large dish after large dish after large dish...LOL The food we were served on this evening was good home cooked items. They start you off with spiced peaches, and salad, then came Chicken, brisket, potatoes, veggies, bread, etc... and of course you have to have dessert which they offered us two, of which they said, "you can have one or the other..or both... OINK I say... Hickory Bridge Farm is not fine dining, it is absolutely a good old fashion down home family dining experience. Every table was having a great time, and the food was good and certainly filling...And the attention from everyone there from beginning to end was the best.
This was a stop on our bus tour and it was a beautiful site. The food was very good (salad, two vegetables, brisket, corn fritters, warm homemade bread with apple butter, apple cider, stewed apples, roasted potatoes) all served family style and there was plenty to go around and seconds were available. This was followed by a choice of dessert--apple crisp with ice cream or hot fudge sundae or sherbet with an apple cookie. The staff was so warm and friendly. You just felt so very welcome. They also have a place for weddings and it would be such a beautiful venue, plus they have a Bed & Breakfast where the bridal party could stay. Last, but not least, there was a little gift shop with a unique variety of items for sale. If you are in the area or want to have a great stop on a trip, I would highly recommend Hickory Bridge Farms.
I did not book a room this time but I was extremely impressed with their meal and service. All personnel were a delight. Fresh apple butter, baked apples, apple crisp and fresh tomatoes on the salad; then I must rave about the cooked vegetables, potatoes, and brisket. I cannot rave enough. Well worth the visit!
Celebrating 33 years anniversary with dinner and a cottage stay. Dinner service was top notch great wait staff. Food even better hot homemade and as much as you want. Cottages are private quiet and adorable. Hot breakfast of sticky buns mini quiches and fresh fruit delivered to your door on Sunday morning. 100% will do again.
My husband surprised me with a weekend away here. It was perfect! So peaceful, tucked away, not far from Gettysburg if you're looking for actvities. If you're looking for a quiet retreat in nature, this is the place. Family-style dinner was excellent. The cottages are well equipped (jacuzzi tub and fireplace!). Mary Lynn was the consummate host, so friendly, and breakfast was delicious! We felt pampered. We will definitely return.
Stopped here for a home style dinner on our way to Gettysburg. Great meal, staff and very friendly vibe. Country store was great to see and visit. Would recommend to anyone near their location to visit, have dinner or stay the night. Thank you
We had a great romantic weekend at the Hickory Bridge Bed & Breakfast. The cabins were secluded and quiet. Breakfast in the farmhouse was excellent and then on Sunday they delivered breakfast to the cabin! Sitting on the porch in the rockers and listening to the creek and the birds, what a great way to relax. It was an excellent experience, highly recommended and I can’t wait to go back. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Family style dining was amazing. The people are very polite and inviting really cool little store. Can’t wait to come back and stay in one of the cabins and try out the Jacuzzi definitely recommend five star.
We were visiting Gettysburg from DC to enjoy a little history and get away from the city. We were pleasantly surprised to find this country farm where we enjoyed a fabulous homestyle meal. The service and atmosphere was just what we needed to complete our day. Thank you Hickory Bridge Farm for giving our family a great memory to look back on. We’ll be back in the Fall!
