Hannah Family Farm is a small producer focused on providing a diverse range of grass-fed beef, sausages, and pasture-raised pork. They emphasize ethical treatment of animals and sustainable farming practices, offering their products directly to consumers in North Carolina. The farm aims to support local agriculture by selling high-quality meat products while educating customers about the benefits of buying directly from farmers.
Jeff Hannah is very egotistical and thinks he knows everything and this relates to poor custom service. I’d never get meat from him again.
Kind folks; tough beef I have been buying halves from another supplier out of VA and saw an ad on FB for Winston. The price was better so I went for it. Talking with the Hannah’s was great overall. My previous supplier invited me to come see the cows and talked all about their genetics. Jeff said I could drive by but not come into the farm. I get it because I know big time chicken farmers, but a little odd for a small farm. There were several delays at the processing facility due to COVID, which was to be expected at the time. Then the machines broke and Jeff is the one fixing them—he seems to have overextended himself, of which is something I am guilty. I’m assuming at this point it even dry aged for an extra week, which I was willing to accept for tenderness’s sake. They dropped it off at my door, which was pretty amazing. We had a great chat and I was content. Until I started cooking the steaks. At first glance, there is little fat on the meat (see picture). This can be somewhat expected from grass finished, but I am 100% here for the fat. The real problem is that the meat is tougher than anything I’ve ever eaten. I cook blue rare to medium rare and I couldn’t even bite through the meat. Not even when eating raw. Eating a rare strip now and have to take it back out of my mouth and recut the sinew in order to swallow. I know, TMI. It’s so tough I offered to buy back the 1/4 I split with my friend. My wife can’t eat the steaks. They are simply untenable in the mouth. Packaging is spectacular and hold a vacuum better than my other provider. But I can’t recommend this beef. Try before you buy—maybe I just got a bad beef, but without any other knowledge, I would have to assume their genetics do not lend to tender meat. In this case, it was worth paying a little more and driving to VA to pick up (even with gas prices) for better beef.
Some of the best burgers I’ve ever had!!!
Wonderful service. Jeff was very nice and helpful. He answered all my questions and made the process easy. I am so happy with my purchase. The meat looks amazing.
We ordered a quarter cow twice from Hannah Family farms between 2022 and 2024. Best beef we've ever had. Great product and great customer service. Highly recommend!!
Great price packing and delivery. Will do this every year. Did a 1/2 beef and split with two other families. Packed perfect for spliting
High quality food and very easy to deal with! It was my first time ordering a half cow and Jeff walked me through the ordering/cut sheet process and kept me informed every step of the way. I will definitely be ordering from Hannah Family Farm again!
Jeff Hannah was very unprofessional. Meat prices and weights are iffy at best. love how in the "response from owner" they did not dispute "jeff hannah was very unprofessional" only that they dispute the "meat prices and weights are iffy"
We highly recommend Hannah Family Farms for everything beef. We’ve been happy customers for years and routinely use their beef in both homecooked meals and catering dishes. From pasture to table, you won’t find a better source of local, grass fed beef raised with dignity and the knowledge that only comes from generational ethical farming.
Very misleading advertising. It's not $5 a lbs for the meat. It's much more. They claim it's for "hanging weight" and that is the price per lbs "after removing all non edible parts", misleading people to think that is how much the meat you receive will cost per lbs, but it's much closer to $8 a lbs for the meat you get. I explained how they need to explain this to people, and they refused. Very dishonest people. Buyers beware.
Very, very good! I am thankful for this connection! The quality of the meat is amazing! You will never get in stores what Hannah Family Farms offers! If you haven’t checked this out, you have too!
Great product, will keep buying meat from Hannah Family Farms. Jeff is very knowledgeable about farming and what it takes to grow beef, from pasture to table. Thanks for all the hard work!!
First time buyer here and definitely won’t be the last! Great prices, answered all of my questions and went above and beyond when it came to the quality of meat I purchased. I will be buying again!
Great products and great service! Jeff walked me through the entire process of picking my cuts and made the ordering process very easy.
Very professional and offers high quality product. I look forward to doing more business with Hannah Family Farm.
Mr. Hannah is rude. Would not work with him at all.
Fantastic meat and packaging! Delivery service is top notch. Thank you for always filling my freezer.
Jeff is not a very pleasant person to deal with.
