Margaret and Kevin are the best! I’m so glad I decided to join a CSA and found Groundworks Farm. They are so friendly and accommodating. And their produce is out of this world good. It stays fresh for long periods of time and tastes amazing. Plus they live to hear feedback and work to improve their offerings all the time, whether it’s what they have in the farm store or switching to sustainable packaging. You guys rock!
We’ve had so far 2 summer/fall and 1 winter/spring produce shares with Groundworks Farm and we LOVE IT. Margaret and Kevin and their staff supply us with the best, healthiest, yummiest foods. We absolutely recommend their CSA. Great variety and quality. Additionally, they introduced us to many wonderful produce varieties that we would not come across in grocery stores. It’s very special to support our local farmers and their responsible, ethical care of the land.
This is a terrific service; the produce is always excellent and the variety is endless. The farmers, Margaret and Kevin, are completely customer-oriented and provide wonderful, personal service. They also offer chicken, meat, eggs, and cheese shares which are great quality. At every pick-up, they have a pop-up market with local honey, milk, and butter, to name just a few things ... all of which are delicious. I am a huge fan and would recommend this CSA to anyone who values great food and personal service.
We’ve been a part of the produce CSA for 2 years now! We love it! The quality of the produce is top notch and Margaret and her staff are so friendly and wonderful. We love trying things that me might now purchase at the grocery store and we love supporting local farmers!
I have been using the produce, meat, eggs, and cheese shares for the past two years. I have been thrilled with the freshness and variety of the produce that I have received. It has been a great mix of locally grown vegetables I expect—lettuce, corn, tomatoes—with vegetables that I would not have tried, such as watermelon radishes and kohlrabi. This summer they have added fruit to the produce distribution, making the produce share even more appealing. I like the fact that the farmers provide the amount of each produce I can take for my share, but that I choose the particular produce from each bin. The farmers have provided wonderful recipe options to help me make use of all the produce that is provided. The pasture-raised meats—beef, pork, lamb, and chicken—have been especially tasty. I like the option of picking the cuts that I want. The cheese share has brought new kinds of locally produced cheeses that I would not have tried before. It also is clear from the color of the yolks that the pasture-raised eggs are nutrient-rich. Finally, the farmers have added and expanded a store at the site with dairy products, additional fruit and eggs, and other food products for purchase. These products supplement the CSA distribution very nicely.
This is my family’s first experience with a CSA. We are enjoying it very much. I cook differently now. I open my refrigerator and make meals from the ingredients I received that week…lots of freshly harvested vegetables straight from the farm, grown with organic methods. The variety is great. Bonus: the produce lasts longer since it is freshly harvested. Pick up is convenient to me in Arlington at the Arlington Arts Center. It can be quick or leisurely, depending on my available time. Groundworks CSA has a nice layout at distribution. Bins of vegetables are laid out along with a list of limits for each item. I like being able to measure and choose my specific cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, etc. I especially like that the eggs are pasture raised and have deep orange yolks. They are grown without antibiotics and are non-gmo!
Fabulous CSA! The bounty and quality of this CSA are top-rate. We also receive great communications, including recipes. Pick-up is well-organized. We recommend it without reserve!
