There is just something sacred about going into a smokehouse/butcher joint. The aromas and atmosphere, you just can't beat and this place is no different. Great selection of meats, canned goods and spices. The owners are always eager to please and the location is the small town of Holstein adds to the experience. Try the bacon wrapped pork loin, that will blow your hair back!!

They some of the best seasoning I have ever had. It's called Special Steak Salt. Great on steaks, burgers, pork or mix with sour cream for a tasty chip dip. Plus their various beef sticks and jerky are super good. Well worth the trip.

Got in quick after letting a few deer hang and both people were very nice and even though they were pretty booked for a few weeks they took the deer in anyways they had pretty cheap prices for what I'm having done

I took boneless deer meat to them January 7, 2023 was told it be six weeks to get it back. I did not hear nothing from them little over two months later I finally got a hold of them said they were still working on hold deer. It was gonna be a little bit on boneless meat. They are very hard to get a hold of. They will not call you back. You have to call first thing in the morning and good luck with them. to the answer the phone. When I did get to talk to them I got all kinds of excuses on why it was taken so long. Four months later I finally get them hold of them and they told me it would be another couple weeks. They’re waiting for some more seasoning. I called the following month. Finally, they admitted they did not start on my Deer. I finally got my deer processed through them. It was nine days short of seven months that is ridiculous. They did take 10% off the total bill for taking so long. It should’ve been a lot more. I will not go back to them again.

Great products, people, and service! I have taken our families deer there for several years and it is always very good, and have also gotten beef done there and it was the best! Large selection of options and full meat counter as well as seasonings and rubs, you can't go wrong.

At a recent poker run, we purchased a package of bacon, dried beef, pepperoni sticks, etc. from Gentert. We are fortunate to live in south central Nebraska with VERY good lockers still in existance, including our home town of Holdrege. That being said, we are heading to Holstein tomorrow morning. Even the smell of the bacon frying is top notch. This is some of the best meat we've had in the 21 years we've been here. I grew up in the Sandhills; their product is exemplary.

I am satisfied every single time i go into this place. The service is exceptional and the meat is top notch. I will not take my deer anywhere else.

Took boneless meat to them in October said it would be done by Christmas. It's the end of May. I ship meat allover the Midwest and Rockies. Heard every excuse they could come up with Very unprofessional will make sure everyone I know relative's etc will know.

I bring my deer here every season and I live in Denver. Super friendly, great quality, everything tastes awesome, and the price is right.
