Elodie Farms is a no-kill goat farm located in Rougemont, NC, that focuses on agritourism by offering farm dinners, tours, and private events. The farm is home to a herd of mixed-breed goats and has shifted its focus away from producing goat cheese to enhancing visitor experiences. They emphasize animal welfare and community engagement through their events.
Well.. wasn't expecting this After months of trying we finally got tickets to the farm dinner. We were promised a farm tour to meet the donkey and goats. Elodie farm makes cheese so I was hoping to see more on the operation . The "tour" was just here's the goats. Go pet them. NOT a FARM tour. No donkey either. Jojo ? As per their webpage . I felt like donkey, found a gate and walked myself out . Its BYOB The first dish had freezer burn The second dish was raw carrots and peppercorn The corn / tomato soup had no tomato One dish had protien and was good The dessert was souvide pineapple and banana i cream. The pineapple was raw for me in one piece and cooked the other Kicker for me was nothing came from the farm itself . Not even a cheese bite Overall, I'm not recommending this to anyone. The hosts are kind but I just didn't appreciate the food quality for that price.
The most incredible venue for an intimate farm dinner! My two friends got married in Durham this weekend and hosted a reception dinner of about 12 people at Elodie Farms after the ceremony. It was PERFECTION. The setting could not have been more beautiful. Sandra and Ted were the most gracious hosts and the food was to die for. I highly recommend the jalapeño goat cheese and finding Rosebud out among the goats - she's a sweety! Thank you, Elodie Farms, for a memorable event.
The monthly dinners are amazing!! Most of the reviews on here are about how wonderful goats and farm tours are, but if you have not gone to one of their monthly dinners (every second Saturday) you are missing out. An amazing dinner cooked by a chef trained at some of the best area restaurants (Ted the co-owner of the farm along with his wife Sandra). The dinner is set in the main farmhouse which gives it an authentic rustic feel which pairs perfectly with the dishes all made from ingredients sourced from local farms and businesses. All around an incredible and delicious experience made all the better by your amazing and friendly hosts for the night.
One of my favorite places, Elodie Farms is magical. You must attend a Dinner on the Porch event! Buy a ticket for a multi-course meal, bring your own wine or preferred beverages. Before dinner, you're able to stroll around the farm and take a mini tour to meet and pet the goats, learn how they make their cheese, crackers and specialty items. Owners are so accommodating and you can see their passion shine through. Oh, and the goat cheeses and crackers are heavenly.
Elodie farms is an incredible and unique place! The open farm days are very relaxing with some of the best soft serve ice cream I've ever had. Our hosts Sandra and Ted took us on a wonderful tour with the goats. 10/10 would recommend.
Had a wonderful time for my husband’s birthday dinner. Toured the goat farm, had the best cheese, and a five course meal. I highly recommend it. Only note is that it is a long evening! 6:00 tour, 7:00 dinner & it concluded at 10:00.
I have been to two delicious farm dinners here. The owners are kind and caring toward their animals, not to mention amazing at putting on the dinners. Well worth it!
I love to make deliveries to this farm! Today the goats were trying to find a cool spot in the shade. I even saw one walking up the steps to the front door! I wonder if he or she knocked and asked to come in out of the heat!?! 😉🤭 …
Highly recommended. Booked a private tour for my family after Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful experience. Sandra and Ted truly are amazing individuals. The kids loved the goats and JoJo the donkey! We’ll definitely do it again next year.
Went on a farm tour and had a wonderful time! The owners were really easy to talk to, and quite knowledgeable about their animals. The goats were adorable and seemed very happy / well taken care of. Cheese samples were delicious -- highly recommend it.
