Country Butcher

We've been buying jerky from the Country Butcher for 40 years and we've never been disappointed, until now. For some reason they've soaked the meat in oil before packaged it. I cannot think of any reason to do that other than increasing the weight. I had to use a paper towel and dry off every piece as I took it out of the package. See the pictures below. You can see the puddle of oil on the meat. You can see the oil stained on the paper towel I pressed out of the piece of jerky . Also check out the before and after pictures of what it looked like after I dried off the right hand piece. Unfortunately, I won't be back. Buyer beware.

They have great meats! Extremely clean and the staff are super nice! They have a dine in area for you to sit and enjoy your lunch. They also offer meat packages, soup, sandwichs, chips, cakes and cookies. Their beef jerky is the best I have ever tasted! Conviently located on Route 322 in Clearfield PA.

I recently brought 3 frozen caribou into the Country Butcher from the North Slope of Alaska . Jason was very accommodating. He explained in detail his services. He is honest as the the day is long. His butchers were friendly and nice to talk with. His facility exceeded my expectations for cleanliness. Jason’s front desk workers were exceptionally nice. If you’re looking for quality butchering services for a fair price the Country butcher is IT “!

They advertise lean ground beef on Thursdays for $5.99/lb when you buy 10 lb. I’ve bought it before and it was lean and good but we were really disappointed recently when we bought it. It definetly was not Lean!! The color of it didn’t look right. I even said to the cashier it didn’t look the the lean ground beef in the case. When I bought it before and they took it out of the case but this time they had it already bagged up. There was a lot of grease when we made burgers. Very greasy has a lot of fat in it!

Great subs packed with everything you want! Side salads are delicious!

There is no words to describe how good the hoagies are there. The owners give so much to our community and I can't tell you how much they have helped people in our community. I would ask that everybody supports the country butcher.

Disappointing at fair need a processor for a hog purchased at sale your man packed up n left early now doing business in Tyrone have beef this fall will likely not use you

I just started eating there after the passing of my mother, I personally find this place to be perfect they're always so kind and so loving and they make a real good sandwich.

Great meat products. Even had gluten free cookies.

Staff is always friendly. Jamie pentz waited on me today.she was friendly and knowledgeable plus she has the best smile ever ! She makes u feel welcomed . Everything u want to see especially for a small business. Jason did right by hiring her!!! Thank you ! I will be back!

Good product at a good price, sold by good people who care about the quality of their work, and invest in their local community. Cannot beat it.
