What a huge disappointment. Stopped at carpenters to get robbed for a $15 dozen ears of corn and interestingly enough they are all bagged up and you cannot choose your own anymore. Well, I suppose this is why… Take a look at the photos. Seven out of the 12 ears looked just like this, about 3-4 inches long without much corn on them at all. Each ear was partially opened so they obviously knew what they were selling. $15 is a lot of money to spend on a dozen year of perfect corn. Never mind this garbage.
My family was in the area on vacation, and our Airbnb hosts recommended Carpenter's Farm as a place to stop and shop. I am so glad we did! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The produce section was excellent. We purchased several of their fresh-baked pies, which were gone within two days. So good!! They also carry various other baked goods, meets, and other specialty items. Plus, their flowers were absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend you make Carpenter’s Farm a priority stop!
While on vacation here from Maryland, I was in the farm stand on Friday August 8,2025. I went inside after looking at the perennials to comment on the excellent quality (although very expensive) plant material. My plan was to purchase all my plant material here for someone’s home here in RI. When I went inside, I noticed that they make homemade pies so I selected four for our group of 16 staying on Matunuck beach. As soon as I picked up the four pies, a lady approached me and commented “ The next time you come in to buy 4 pies you’ll need to call to place an order” I replied that I’m sorry I didn’t realize that I am from out of town. She said that if I purchase four pies, there won’t be enough for anyone else. I asked if that was the case for the smaller pies as well and she said yes. My purchase of four pies would’ve been $112. The purchase of the perennials would’ve been somewhere in the $700 range. I can’t say that I’ve ever had someone be as rude to me while trying to purchase goods. I called and asked to speak to the manager to Inform her of the incident. She was also rude, cut me off and said she had to go. Hate to say it, but I won’t be back. Advised my family who lives here and they also won’t shop here. Mentioned the incident to a local business owner, and he indicated that several other customers shared a similar experience. It’s really unfortunate that a small business owner treat a customer in this fashion.
Another stop at Carpenters farm market for some fresh produce and good. First time grabbing the bloody mary mix...
Stopped by and looked around. They have some fun and whimsical garden items for sale. I got some peaches along with a raspberry scone and a peanut butter cookie. All of it was yummy. Lots of flowers to take home and plant. Worth stopping.
The pies are not sicky sweet. Yes! You can actually taste the fruit.
This place was great! Our corn was delicious and straight off the truck. Tomatoes, mozzarella and lots of fresh items.
