Just bought a bunch of meat here, and the owner is a great dude. He was so nice and helpful, taught me a few things too! Their beef jerky is incredible, super excited to try the flat iron steaks he recommended!

Joel and the crew are outstanding to deal with, they are all knowledgeable and super helpful through the whole butchering process. Also, I have never bought a product from their fridge or freezer that didn't taste amazing.

We ordered the pulled pork for our son’s Graduation party, EVERYONE RAVED about how good it was,flavorful,juicy. Did not need to addd a thing(we had out BBQ sauce,s&p). Many people asked where we ordered from and Carlsons phone number. Excellent!!!!!!!

One of the best in the area, if not the best already. We are lucky to have such a great place with extremely fair prices in our area. They are friendly, knowledgeable and easy to deal with owners/employees. From drop off to pickup, you can always find the owners for questions if you need, however I have grown to trust their staff over the years with most of my questions. I use this USDA processing facility for 90% or better of my business, visiting them multiple times for drop off and pickup per month. I highly recommend this place for USDA or custom processing.

Those stars disappear pretty fast when the service is poor. There is no justice in screaming at the customer no matter what. Most certainly not when the customer is calling because of problems. If you don't understand call, my number is on the order. oh, and prices were nearly double from last year's. Emails go unsigned, employees can't give the same answer and if they don't understand your order, they guess. The owner is part time, takes days to get back to you if at all, and isn't around when the order is processed. They don't keep your cutting order so you can't order the same as before and I blame this for the problems we had. When I called to discuss, I was met with hostility and screaming from Jesse who laughed when I told him I would report him to Joel. Lot of good it did, Joel doesn't seem to care about keeping customers so we too will go elsewhere. Sure missed my suet. Smoked meat vacuum package isn't holding and I have to be very careful not to puncture the burger. Just to name a few.

These guys are awesome! Support small businesses! They care and always help out and offer suggestions if you aren't sure what kind of meat you want.

I have bought tons of meat(literally) from this wonderful Meat Shop. Jesse and the crew always take care of me and I know the quality of meat is top shelf!! My entire family will drive from Glencoe(35 minutes) when it’s time to fill our belly’s with fresh cut steaks or our freezers with half’s and quarter’s of beef and pork. Hell, they even have full chickens and bison prime rib roasts!!! It’s your one stop shop!! Best tenderloin medallions around and family owned. Wether local or making a drive, it’ll be worth it. The jerky alone is worth the trip. * * * * * all day!!

Took 65 pounds of Turkey to get smoked. Turned out amazing! I have visited meat markets and butchers all over the state, Carlson's has the best of the following. Dried Beef, Smoked Chicken, and Smoked Salmon. You will love it.

Carlson Meat Shop is a awesome small town-business that supports the local farmers and I’d USDA inspected so a lot more options for services than other butcher shops and the new ownership is amazing
