The farm has grown, learning the unique needs of individual fields, and remains rare in the area for being entirely located in one place. Farming Practices

Osterkamp Farms prioritizes land preservation, water conservation, and wildlife protection. They evaluate their crops based on stringent criteria—visual inspection, color, stem size, leafiness, texture, purity, and moisture—to ensure quality. They are also committed to responsible water use through Tail Water Recovery Systems, supporting fresh water conservation.

Products and Offerings

The farm specializes in Alfalfa and Bermuda hay bales. These products are available year-round due to strategic storage in barns and tarps, maintaining a stable inventory despite the seasonal nature of the crops. Osterkamp Farms supplies hay in large bales, weighing 97 to 1500 lbs, accommodating various customer needs. Shank Seed, associated with the farm, offers custom seed harvesting, cleaning, and bagging, extending their precision into the seed market with crops like alfalfa seed and Bermuda seed.
