Bob's Quality Meats

Can purchase frozen rabbit. Skilled friendly service. Snackable jerky vacuum sealed. And lots of various kinds of other meats! Also, jars of homemade hot dog toppings .. pickled this and that vegetable.

I absolutely love Bob's. I've been twice and both times had amazing staff help and amazing products! I used a smoked turkey leg in my collard greens and a boneless chuck roast for a stew. Prior to that I bought a lamb of rack from them. Always fantastic meat and flavor, my Texan heart feels warmed with their delicious offerings.

I flew back from Houston to bring some southern love to the state (Gator, Deer, & Boudain), but we needed chicken to stuff! Bob's chicken came out tender, soft, white, and took in all that flavor. I brought back smoked Cajun boudain but needed more for the chicken stuffing- and Bob has it! It doesn't have that Cajun taste but reflects a German sausage taste still high quality and served a large part of our dish! The rice in the photo is gator( from houston) jambalya 😋!

I wanted to share a disappointing experience I had during a recent visit. I frequently shop here and have always appreciated supporting a small and local business. My husband is active duty military, and I asked the staff member assisting me whether you offer a military discount. Her response was unexpectedly curt and dismissive. She replied, “Only active duty,” to which I clarified, “Yes, we are.” She then stated the discount was only 5%, which surprised me, as many businesses, especially small or veteran-friendly ones (especially ones so close to LAFB). Future note for your business- It may be worth reviewing this policy to remain competitive and supportive of the military community. She said she needed to check, and when she returned, she asked for my ID in a way that felt unnecessarily harsh and unfriendly. I immediately said yes of course, presented it and thanked her multiple times throughout the interaction, but I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. As a frequent customer here, this experience was disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as I truly have enjoyed supporting your business, however, I’m now unsure if I’ll continue to return.

I was so excited about the smoked pork chops, because they were perfect portions. I made this meal for the family with fresh vegetables from the farmers market nearby. The pork chops were extremely salty. I font mind a little extra salt, these were extremely over salted.

The beef tenderloin of Bob's Quality Meats we had for New Year's Day was absolutely delicious. It was very tender and flavorful. I called Bob's a couple of times with questions about beef quantity per person and prices and they were super helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this business. Great products and staff!

Price is about the same as other high end stores but the quality is worse. Idk if they were just not having a good stock day but the meat wasn't as marbled as expected

Stay away from the black pepper beef jerky. It has twice the pepper needed. I love spice and heat, but they absolutely ruin the flavor. They must use a recipe and I told them of the problem, but they just ignored my customer input. I want their products to be great but they just don't give a damn.

I love Bob's! They have a nice selection and consistently reasonable prices. They are also convenient, because I live in the neighborhood and can walk from my house to Bob's to pick up meats for any random meal. I like their hours too - they stay open later and for more total hours than several other shops in the area like the bakery. They are a small shop and can get busy sometimes, but even when they are busy, the line still moves reasonably fast. They have a lot more variety than a normal grocery store. You can even order unusual meats that can be hard to find elsewhere in the city. The customer service is always good too. They are always willing to give advice and answer questions as long as they are not super busy. They often recognize me as a regular customer now and sometimes give me small extra benefits for that. Bob's is the best!
