Having to put my bestest buddy in the whole wide world down after this weekend and went to Belmont Butcher to get him one of his favorites, a knuckle bone. Hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. A thick, grass-fed bone-in ribeye, about an inch and a half, rested and then seared in cast iron with fresh garlic, thyme, and rosemary straight from the garden. Finished off with Irish butter, it was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. The kind of meal that makes you stop after the first bite and just say, “Wow.” Absolutely delicious—yes please and thank you

We have been searching for an old school type butcher shop since moving to Virginia. We have found some great farm fresh meat but have yet to find a place that has a great selection all the time. As we were on our way to a chain that has fantastic prime meat we came across Belmont Butchery. This is the old school feel we were seeking! Thrilled to see the selection of accompaniments such as butters and cheese. Our first items were some chicken breasts for a pasta dish and two pasture raised, aged filets. The quality and flavor is far beyond what we have been getting at the big box! The beef was tied and packed properly and the pricing was on point! We will be back again soon!

The only place I’ve found Guanciale in Richmond. Was very tasty, was spot on for flavor. Made a absolutely banging carbonara with it that tasted just like what I’ve had in Italy! Will be back!! Staff was friendly and accommodating.

We finally made it here after living in the Richmond area for 5 years. I regret I didn’t make it there sooner. As soon as we walked in we were greeted ( ow I know the owner). She was absolutely amazing, walked us through the entire store philosophy and process. We eventually bought a couple different sausages, a NY strip, eggs etc… She said the steak would blow whatever we have been purchasing away. She was spot on. We will never shop anywhere else for our meats. The steak I cooked was delicious, full of flavor, tender and tasted like a high end steak. Thank you so much for your passion and store.

I have been going here for over 5 years now. I get the hanger steak every time, cant find it anywhere else. Everyone is very kind and helpful. They always have great recommendations and are super knowledgeable.

There is nowhere else in this city that could compare to this place. The selection, the atmosphere, the artists (staff) just can’t be matched. If you’re in the 804 then this is where you should be shopping.

I needed an appropriate Meet for a wild game chili cook off and Belmont Butchery came up when I googled wild game in Richmond. Henry and the gang took care of me, sawing a frozen two pound block of wild boar into quarters. I had never been there before and until I went to pick up my game, Upon arrival it looked like a lovely place to shop. It appears that they have just about anything you could be looking for and if they don't, they could probly get it.

I love shopping here. They're always friendly and helpful. Love grabbing some little cheese orphans and stock while picking out some amazing meats. We love their sausages as well. The inferno sausage is our favorite and we keep some stocked in the freezer.
