Expensive! These were the most expensive chicks I've ever bought. Spent $40 on 3 chicks, all survived but one was the wrong breed. It was supposed to be a blue laced red Wyandotte and it was instead a regular red laced wyandotte after 12 weeks. They have a HUGE fly problem, too. 2/3 had BAD pasty butt when i picked em up. i told them specifically to choose ones that didnt have pasty butt. Cute decor, nice selection of chick breeds too. The ladies at check out were nice, just wished they respected my wish to not pick any w/pasty butt.

Look at these kittens in a cage in 90+ degree weather. Their eyes are crusty. Litter was messy. This is pretty bad.

We picked up this beautiful Rooster from Baxter barn last weekend…. He appears to be a beautiful Swedish! He is just a stunning Young boy for our 11 week old flock. Thank you to Elaina for helping us find this perfect Roo for our Flock.

I've bought chicks and ducklings from here a couple times now. We LOVE going to Baxters. My last big batch of chicks, I lost a couple. Cory had me send a pic of my brooder and we changed the heaters a bit. He took the time to troubleshoot with me. Cory has been incredibly helpful when I've called and asked about my adult birds too. He's been happy to help with a variety of questions, anything from medicine dosages, feed and supplements, and coop setups. Love having this resource and small business nearby.

I bought 5 chicks in March paid for said 99% females. If not they will take return and refund/replace. Now 3 months later one is a rooster. I called them. They said they won’t refund nor replace only take it back. I picked the place to support local business. Now I feel I was too naive.

This is the second year I've attempted to work with Baxter Barn to buy chicks. They ask you to text to set up an appointment, to which you might get a one word answer to multiple questions, if they respond at all. Last year I had to text multiple times to get an appointment. When we got there with our kids we received no help and were looked at like "what are you doing here?" even with an appointment time. We bought 9 chicks, we were told one was possibly a rooster, which we were fine with. Well he immediately died on the drive home and 3/9 chicks had horrible diarrhea and were shaking. 1 died when we got it home and the others we were able to nurse back to health. Decided I'd try again this year, maybe that was a fluke. We'll I reached out on FB to set up an appointment, was told to text for appointment, which I have now twice with no response. Unfriendly, terrible customer service, would not recommend.

My saving grace! I've had the amazing luck of coming across this Farm/Company when I was shopping around for chickens to add to my flock over a year ago. After purchasing my new chicks and supplies from them the first time i was blown away by their customer service, from start to finish. The staff is very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I've gone back and have purchased all my livestock needs through them, from coops, feed, livestock and medicine. I've been on the barn about 6 times over the last year and Brandon the Manager has always made me feel appreciated and has had the time to answer or help me find solutions to all my livestock needs and questions, even the ones that wouldn't lead to a sell. At Baxter Barn you can tell the animals there are well taken care of and loved. I've purchased animals several different times at different ages. I was worried that the older birds wouldn't be as friendly as the ones I raised from chicks. The staff took the time to help me pick out birds that would compliment my needs. The animals are handled with kind hands. You can tell by the questions they ask you that they want their livestock to go to good homes. That you have the knowledge and materials to care for them. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I know I could contact them right now with a silly question and they would respond in a timely manner. I also know that if I had any issues or problems with my purchases that together we could find a solution. Its my forever go to for anything. Thank you Baxter Barn and the employees for setting the bar high.

Bought several chicks from this place on September 2023 just to find out that 75% of them are roosters. This is despite paying extra to get egg laying hens. I do not recommend this business
